This video is an experiment done for fun. It demonstrates how original Monkey Island 2 backgrounds look and feel in a modern 3d game engine. The sets were built using Maya and then exported into Cryengine’s Sandbox editor. This is a followup to my other Monkey Island 2 videos that showed how to “convert” 2d concept art into 3d scenes using camera projection techiques. Check them out if you want more background info, or head over to my site. www.loneclone.de The level featured here will be …

Fantastic!
Is el pollo diablo a side blow against the “chicken of evil” by infamous Terry Goodkind? Or just coincidence.
I’m no Monkey Island fan but this sure does look great
Because theirs has to fit in a small file size limit.
You sir is talented!
Awesome, you just single-handedly made TellTale’s Monkey Island episodes look like crap. You, and only you, have made a mockery of their ENTIRE dev team. I hope someone from TellTale sees this and just starts dropping tears, then says, “why didn’t we put any time and effort into our crappy version?!”
holy shit
OMG This is the Second most aweomse thing i’ve ever seen

If only Lucasarts would stop making the shitty sub par star wars stuff and make something like this.
Amazing work. If only LucasArts would make a Monkey Island game like that.
Amazing work!! ..most of all, this video demonstrates that 3D can re-creates those “old feelings” we all miss, if only used correctly and with passion.. =)
